Well I cant believe the new year is here. I have been thinking a lot about different aspects of my life that I need to work on. I am not going to disclose those things but I am hoping that I can making these changes that are needed. Somethings are just improvements. Strengthen things so to speak. As for day 1. I did absolutely nothing, notta, nope not a thing. It was kind of nice. Well I take that back I did cook breakfast here at the house but I didn't clean up. Then we went to Mom's and had a Duck Dynasty Marathon and smoked ribs, made coleslaw and fried taters. There I cut the cabbage for the slaw, peeled and chopped taters and threw them in the skillet and that was pretty much it. Most of us did a whole lot of nothing today and boy was it nice. Tomorrow is back to reality. We are not starting school but we have to get this house righted and ready for school to start back on Monday. Tomorrow we start back to AWANA and I have to get ready. I did a few things on break but I didn't get them all done. I still have to finish the poster boards with the verses on it. It is not easy to write big, not cursive, and neat. I am terrible at this.
Meanwhile I am totally fascinated by homesteading blogs. Yeah, it is very strange...foreign almost to me that people want to go from having electricity in their house at their finger tips 24/7 to solar power and oil lamps. I am not at all fascinated on living with no running toilets, showers, sinks, washers/dryers. I am however truly fascinated that they grow, can, kill most all that they eat. Goats for milk, chicken for eating and for eggs, huge gardens, fruit trees, a more simple life if you will with very little or no money spent at the store. Now do I want to buy a 5 gallon bucket and this huge plunger thing and start washing clothes....errrr NOPE. I hate doing the laundry as of now and I just have to toss into the machines. I would really have an outrageous laundry room if I had to plunge stuff. So in saying all this I am ready to start planting a HUGE garden and some fruit bearing trees. Mom thankfully has decided that we should grow a big garden at her house and so we are going to start hunting for soil to work with now and I have a list already of what we are going to maybe grow. Meanwhile I guess I'll just read some more blogs. I am always fascinated on how people live. I am not sure if people will believe this but there are stranger people out there than ME! HA!! I find it rather fascinating and I am learning along the way. No worries I don't plan to throw pee out the window anytime soon to lower my bills and be more off grid. My neighbors will be thankful since their front door is out my window! bahahahahaha. I have decided to be a bit more self sufficient if at all possible this year and years to come.
